PHL Embassy in Rome Leads Asean Day Celebration

09 August 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome led the celebration of the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at the Embassy’s Multi-purpose Hall on August 08.
Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco hosted the ambassadors of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) for the commemoration of ASEAN Day. All the members of the ACR, Ambassador August Parengkuan of Indonesia, Ambassador Abdul Samad Othman of Malaysia, Ambassador Myint Naung of Myanmar, Ambassador Tana Weskosith of Thailand, and Ambassador Cao Chinh Thien of Viet Nam, were present during the celebration. Ambassador Nolasco is the current chairperson of the Committee.
PHL Embassy in Rome Organizes Forum on Combating Human Trafficking

03 August 2016 — Some 20 representatives of various Filipino community organizations joined the personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Rome in a forum organized by the Embassy on July 28. The aim of the forum was to intensify public awareness of the problem of trafficking in persons.
Philippine Ambassador to Italy, Domingo P. Nolasco, opened the forum with an outline of the Philippine government policy to combat human trafficking and the importance of cross-sectoral cooperation in addressing the problem.

PHL Embassy in Rome Conducts Consular Outreach in Florence

28 July 2016 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted a consular outreach mission in Florence on July 23. The consular outreach was initiated by the Philippine Embassy in Rome in partnership with the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Florence in response to the request of the Filipino community in the area.
Eighteen (18) former Filipino nationals took their oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines in the city of Florence during the consular outreach in the area in the biggest single oath taking event for the reacquisition of Philippine citizenship administered by the Philippine Embassy in Rome recently.

Philippine Student Choir Wins at the 7th International Choir Festival & Competition in Rome

07 July 2016 - Filipino students from the Miriam College High School Glee Club, led by its conductor, Ms. Nancy Roman, won the Diploma d’Oro Level III in the G2-Youth Choirs of Equal Voices category and the Diploma d’Oro Level II in the S3-Sacred Music Female Choir category at the 7th International Choir Festival & Competition held in Rome, Italy from July 01 to 05.
From the 16 competing international choirs, the Miriam College High School Glee Club, together with other five choirs, qualified the Grand Prize competition concert.
Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco attended the Grand Prize Concert at the Basilica di Sant’Andrea della Valle on July 05 to demonstrate support to the Filipino students. The Ambassador congratulated and commended the group for making the country and the Filipinos proud. The competition provided an opportunity to showcase the Filipino talent and creativity to the Italian public.
The group was the only choir from Asia who qualified in the competition. Other participating choirs were from Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Serbia, Sweden, USA and Ukraine. END
