MARRIAGE

Report of Marriage

The marriage solemnized in Italy, Malta, Albania and San Marino must be reported to the Embassy soon after the solemnization of such marriage.

General Requirements:

    1. Personal appearance of both contracting parties
    2. Four (4) copies of duly accomplished Report of Marriage Application Form
    3. Marriage Certificate issued by the Comune (original and four (4) copies)
    4. Passport of the Filipino spouse (original and four (4) copies)
    5. Passport or Carta d’Identita of the foreigner-spouse (original and four (4) copies)

Note: The Consular Officer reserves the right to require additional documents upon assessment of the application, pursuant to relevant laws, rules and regulations.

Additional Requirements:

For Late Registration of Marriage (Report of marriage filed one (1) year after the date of wedding ceremony)
     • Notarized Affidavit of Delayed Registration of Marriage

Processing Fees:

     - Report of Marriage Fee €22.50
     - Notarized Affidavit of Delayed Registration of Marriage €22.50

Solemnization of Marriage within the Embassy premises

Marriage between two Filipino citizens (a man and a woman), who are both at least 18 years old, may be solemnized within the premises of the Philippine Embassy.

General Requirements:

1. Personal appearance of both contracting parties
2. Duly accomplished Marriage License Application Form
3. Duly accomplished Information Sheet
4. Apostilled Birth Certificate of each contracting party on security paper issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
5. Other requirements:
     a. If single, Apostilled Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) on security paper issued by the PSA
     b. If widowed, spouse’s Apostilled Death Certificate issued by the PSA
     c. If marriage has been declared null and void or annulled, Apostilled Annotated Marriage Contract on security paper issued by the PSA and Apostilled Court Decision of Nullity/Annulment of Marriage.
6. Valid passports of the contracting parties
     *For requirements 5 and 6, original documents and four (4) copies of the same are required.
7. For applicants aged 18 to 21 years, personal appearance of the parents and their notarized Affidavit of Parental Consent. If parents are not residing in Italy, the notarized Affidavit of Parental Consent shall be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or the Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest the place of residence of the parents.
8. For applicants aged 22 to 25 years, personal appearance of the parents and their notarized Affidavit of Parental Advice. If parents are not residing in Italy, the notarized Affidavit of Parental Advice shall be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or the Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest the place of residence of the parents.
9. For contracting parties who are at least 25 years old, a Marriage Counselling Certificate from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the Philippines, the Embassy’s Office of Social Welfare Attaché, or any religious organization to which the contracting party is affiliated.
10. Photocopy of the passports or Carta d’Identità of two (2) witnesses
11. Two copies of 2’’x 2’’-size ID photo with white background of each contracting party

Notes:
     • The Marriage License will be released only after the marriage banns have been posted on the Philippine Embassy bulletin for ten (10) consecutive days.
     • Contracting parties are encouraged to bring only two (2) witnesses to the wedding ceremony.

- Marriage Solemnization € 54.00
- Italian Translation of Marriage Contract € 22.50
- Notarized Affidavit of Parental Consent or Advice € 22.50

Solemnization of Marriage (by a comune, city, town, or a church in Italy)

I.    A Filipino citizen who intends to get married in the Comune or church in Italy has to secure a Nulla Osta Per Matrimonio or a Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage from the Philippine Embassy.

General Requirements:

1. Personal appearance of the Filipino
2. Duly accomplished Information Sheet
3. Application for Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage
4. Apostilled Birth Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
5. Valid Philippine passport
6. Other requirements:
     a. If single, original Apostilled Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) issued by the PSA
     b. If widowed, original Apostilled Marriage Contract issued by the PSA and spouse’s original Apostilled Death Certificate issued by the PSA
     c. If marriage has been declared null and void or annulled, original Apostilled annotated Marriage Contract issued by the PSA and Apostilled Court Decision of Nullity/Annulment of Marriage.
7. For applicants aged 18 to 21 years, personal appearance of the parents and their notarized Affidavit of Parental Consent. If parents are not residing in Italy, the notarized Affidavit of Parental Consent shall be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or the Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest the place of residence of the parents.

If parents are not residing in Italy, the notarized Affidavit of Parental Advice shall be authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) or the Philippine Embassy or Consulate nearest the place of residence of the parents.

     a. Contestuale for Italians; appropriate equivalent document for non-Italians
     b. Duly accomplished Information Sheet
     c. Copy of passport or Carta d’Identità
     d. Two copies of 2’’ x 2’’-size ID photo with white background

Notes:
The Nulla Osta Per Matrimonio will be released only after the marriage banns have been posted on the Philippine Embassy bulletin for ten (10) consecutive days.
• After the marriage solemnization, contracting parties are advised to file as soon as possible a Report of Marriage with the Embassy (Please see Report of Marriage for complete requirements).

II.    An overseas Filipino citizen, not residing in Italy, who intends to get married in a comune or church in Italy, shall obtain from the Embassy a Nulla Osta Per Matrimonio.

General Requirements:

1. Original Certificate of Legal Capacity to Contract Marriage (CLCCM) issued by the Philippine Embassy or Consulate having jurisdiction over the place of residence of the Filipino groom or bride
2. Copy of the Apostilled CENOMAR on security paper issued by the PSA
3. Copy of Apostilled Birth Certificate on security paper issued by the PSA
4. Original valid passport and copy of its data page

Notes:
   • The Nulla Osta Per Matrimonio will be released two (2) working days after the complete documentary requirements have been accepted.
   • The CLCCM is valid for 180 days in Italy. Please ensure that the wedding ceremony is completed within the validity period of the CLCCM.
   • After the wedding ceremony, contracting parties are advised to file as soon as possible a Report of Marriage with the Embassy (see Report of Marriage for specific requirements).
