Rome, 25 June 2018- The Philippine Embassy in Rome held special Sunday consular services at the chancery yesterday, 24 June 2018, its second for the current year, completing more than 400 service transactions in a span of seven straight hours.

The Philippine Embassy opened its consular section as early seven o’clock in the morning of 24 June to welcome two busloads of applicants from the city of Bari in Puglia province in southern Italy. Other applicants came from as far as Florence and Perugia from the central regions of Tuscana and Umbria.

Topping the list of services administered and completed are new passport applications, 140; notarial services, 65; civil registration, 5; OWWA services including membership applications, 94; voter registration, 45; and SSS services, 45. There were 36 individuals who took their oath as Filipino citizens under the “Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act of 2003 (RA 9225).
