The Heads of Mission of the ASEAN Embassies in Rome and their spouses during the ASEAN Family Day on 12 May 2018 held at the Indonesian Embassy.

14 May 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome, headed by Ambassador Domingo Nolasco, participated in the ASEAN Family Day of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) on 12 May 2018 held at the Indonesian Embassy in Rome.

More than 150 people from ASEAN member states with embassies in Rome namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam joined in the event. A representative from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation was also present.

Participants competed in various friendly matches such as arm wrestling, pen-in-a-bottle, darts, and hula hoop relay. Children fun games like donut eating contest and mini-bowling were also conducted for the ASEAN kids.

ASEAN embassies brought and shared its own traditional dishes and specialties to promote the rich ASEAN cuisine.

The family day ended with an awarding ceremony of the winners in the various games. The Philippines bagged the first place in the arm wrestling competition and the mini-bowling; second place in the hula-hoop relay and third place in darts.

The ASEAN Family Day, organized by the Embassy of Indonesia in Rome as ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) Chair, was aimed to strengthen camaraderie and foster friendship among ASEAN diplomats in Rome and their families.
