26 October 2017 ROME — Philippine Ambassador to Italy, Domingo P. Nolasco together with the other ASEAN Ambassadors in Rome, commemorated the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN and the 40th Anniversary of ASEAN-EU Dialogue Relations in a ceremony held at Marriott Grand Hotel Flora in Rome on October 20. Thai Ambassador Tana Weskosith, current Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR), organized the celebration in collaboration with Festival della Diplomazia.

The 50th anniversary of the ASEAN and ASEAN-EU relations was commemorated with the singing of the ASEAN Hymn, the remarks from Ambassador Weskosith, Mr. Ugo Astuto, Principal Director for Asia and Oceania at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Mr. Jan Tombinski, Head of the EU Delegation to the Holy See, and an ASEAN video presentation. The ceremony was concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony. END
