10 October 2017 ROME – Philippine Ambassador Domingo P. Nolasco and Education and Employment Minister Evarist Bartolo met at the Ministry of Education and Employment in Malta on October 04 to discuss how to enhance labor cooperation between the Philippines and Malta.
During the meeting, Ambassador Nolasco and Minister Bartolo discussed ways on how to cooperate on labor migration issues. The number of Filipino workers in Malta has been growing in the past years and close coordination between Philippine and Maltese authorities may be needed to protect the rights of overseas Filipinos.
The two officials agreed to share more information on the labor and migration policies of their countries. Ambassador Nolasco said that the Philippine Embassy in Rome, which has jurisdiction over Malta, looks forward to work more with Maltese authorities to develop more Philippine-Malta labor cooperation.
