NDCP delegates in red, yellow and blue shirts and representatives of the Filipino community after their meeting on June 15 at the Philippine Embassy in Rome
22 June 2017 ROME — A 26-member delegation from the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP) met with representatives of the Filipino community organizations in Rome on 15 June 2017 to exchange views on issues affecting Filipino migrants in Italy.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives of the Filipino community to express their desire for the Philippine government to provide more benefits to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) such as free medical check-up, pension and social welfare benefits. They also called on the Philippine government to address effectively cyber scamming and bullying and the problem of illegal recruitment.
The delegation’s visit to Rome was part of their “Global Security and Defense Study,” and included meetings with officials from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Defense and the National Civil Protection Department of Italy.
