On 07 March 2014, Secretary Virgilio de los Reyes of the Department of Agrarian Reform visited the Philippine Embassy in Rome to meet with the Embassy’s officers and staff and to join in the Embassy’s commemoration of International Women’s Day.

On 10 March 2014, at the Embassy Social Hall, Secretary de los Reyes met with some members the Filipino Community from the south of Italy to discuss various concerns of the Filipinos in Italy, ranging from agrarian reform, agri-business, land registration, real estate loans, payment of taxes, and even proposals from the community for the computerization of government bank transactions and civil status (NSO) documents.

The Secretary of Agrarian Reform was on an official visit to Rome for consultation meetings with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP) to strengthen family farming initiatives and projects in the Philippines.  He was accompanied by Land Bank Director Domingo Diaz.
