04 January 2017 – The Philippine Embassy in Italy commemorated the martyrdom of National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal with Filipino youth at the Sentro Rizal Rome on 29 December 2016 with the screening of a movie about the national hero.

 Over 25 young Filipinos as well as other members of the Filipino community in Italy watched Bayaning Third World by Director Mike de Leon, which is part of the Sentro Rizal Rome Collection.

 Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco laid a wreath at the bust of Dr. Rizal during the event.

 “The life, death, and works of Dr. Jose Rizal were some of the key drivers of the Philippine revolution and independence. With the screening of Bayaning Third World, I hope that you learn about the relevance of Dr. Rizal to our nation and Filipino identity,” said Ambassador Nolasco to audience.

 Ambassador Nolasco also encouraged the Filipino youth to explore the Sentro Rizal Rome collection in order to learn about Filipino culture, history, and heritage. Sentro Rizal Rome has a varied book and multimedia collection on Philippine history, culture, and arts. END
