On 30 December 1896, Dr. Jose Rizal was executed by the colonial government for rebellion, sedition and conspiracy. Dr. Rizal died a hero, His novels, the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, were some of the key driving forces of Philippine independence and revolution.
To commemorate the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal and in time for Rizal Day on 30 December 2016, the Philippine Embassy in Rome, Italy will present from its Sentro-Rizal Collection on 29 December the film, "Bayaning 3rd World: Bilib Ka Ba Kay Rizal or Wala Kang Pakialam."
On Rizal Day, let us all remember and consider the significance of the life and death of Dr. Rizal and its meaning to the Filipino nation and in our daily lives.
