In the morning of Sunday, 08 November 2015, the Philippine Embassy in Rome, in cooperation with the Associazione Straniei Lavoratori in Italia (ASLI), conducted its second Seminar for Inactive Filipino youth (15 to 29 years old) who fall under the category of NEET or “Not in Employment, Education and Training.” The first seminar was held on 04 October 2015.
The seminar allowed for an active interaction and sharing among the youth participants of their personal circumstances as youth migrants and the challenges they face.
ASLI officials led by Ms. Pia Gonzales and Ms. Liza Bueno assisted in the registration of the participants in the “EU Youth Guarantee” program, as implemented by the Italian government, to allow for possible offer of employment, continued education, apprenticeship or traineeship within a period of four months of becoming unemployed or leaving formal education.
Philippine Ambassador to Italy Domingo P. Nolasco reiterated the Embassy’s commitment to facilitate and support initiatives and projects that directly assist young migrant Filipinos in their integration efforts in the Italian society.

In the afternoon of the same day, 08 November 2015, Ambassador Nolasco, accompanied by Consul General Leila Lora-Santos, was the resource speaker at the Forum with the Community on Consular services, Assistance to Nationals (ATN) and Overseas Voting. The Forum was organized by the Socio-Cultural Committee of the Filipino Chaplaincy and was held at the Santa Pudenziana Church.
At the Forum, the Ambassador explained the different functions of the Embassy and recent initiatives to ensure a responsive, transparent and efficient service to the community. He also highlighted the importance of overseas voting and, during the open forum, clarified various consular/OV/ATN procedures and requirements.
