On 12 March 2015, in celebration of the International Women’s Day and as part of the Gender and Development (GAD) Initiative of the Philippine Government, the Philippine Embassy in Rome held a lecture entitled “Women’s Day Talk on Philippines and Italian Laws on Marriage and Family” for the Filipino Community.
The speakers, Atty. Kristine Margret Malang, Vice Consul of the Embassy, Atty Viveca Catalig, Labor Attaché and Atty. Claudio Marcone, discussed topics on Marriage, Requisites, Rights and Duties; Termination of Marriage (Petition for Nullity, Annulment and Legal Separation); and a Brief Summary of Italian Laws on Marriage and Family. Each speaker, through their presentation, provided understanding and clear explanations on the laws applicable in particular cases.
At the end of the lecture, attendees were given time to raise some questions, which the speakers graciously accommodated and answered.
The lecture ended with a closing remark from Minister and Consul General Leila C. Lora-Santos thanking the speakers and the Filipino community present with an encouragement to share with others what they have learned from the lecture. END
