22-23 November 2014 – Philippine Embassy Rome representatives headed by Vice Consul Margret Malang conducted consular services and overseas registration in Malta for the at least 2,000 Filipinos working and living in the island.
The seven-member consular team processed 96 Passport Renewal Applications, 18 Reports of Birth and Marriage, 99 Authentication of Employment Contracts, 17 Notarials, 1 Visa Application, 1 Dual Citizenship Application and 5 Certificates.
Labor Attache Viveca Catalig interviewed employers and verified the employment contracts of 99 Filipinos working in households, hotels, restaurants and massage parlors, to ensure that their contracts comply with both Philippine and Maltese labor laws.
