03 November 2014, the Embassy of the Philippines in Rome Italy, together with some members of the Filipino Community, commemorates the celebration of the National Rice Awareness Month “Be RICEponsible Campaign”. During the flag-raising ceremony held at the Consular Section of the Embassy, Special Agriculture Representative Lupiño Lazaro, Jr. commenced the celebration by imparting a short background on the celebration on the National Rice Month and encouraging our kababayans to be responsible in preparing rice and to consume only sufficient amount to avoid waste. The Embassy staff and members of the Filipino community pledged their commitment to be responsible in this endeavor by reciting the “Panatang Makapalay” led by Mr. Lazaro.

The National Awareness Month is celebrated annually every November pursuant to Proclamation No. 524, s. 2004, which was issued on 05 January 2004
