To further showcase its commitment, specifically in the area of environmental responsibility and the segregation of recyclable office waste materials, the Philippine Embassy in Rome entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the AMA SpA (Rome’s Environmental Management Company) for the delivery to the Embassy of EcoBoxes and information materials for the segregation of recyclable office waste.
The MOU was formally signed at the Embassy on 24 June 2014 by Consul Enrique Voltaire Pingol and Engr. Marco Casonato for AMA SpA.
The MOU and the delivery of EcoBoxes and information materials in both English and Italian are among AMA SpA's initiatives aimed at cooperation in the collection of segregated garbage so as to reduce the quantity of wastes dumped in Rome's landfills.
The delivery of EcoBoxes and information materials is free of charge, and highlights the Embassy’s role as a responsible entity with regard to the environment.
Other Embassies in Rome, such as the British Embassy and the Czech Embassy have signed said MOU with AMA SpA.
