On 19 June 2014, on the occasion of the 153rd birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal, Ambassador Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. went to the Headquarters of the Knights of Rizal and called on the newly-elected Supreme Commander Sir Jeremias “Jerry” C. Singson, KGCR to gain valuable insights from his initiatives to propagate Rizalism which can be replicated by Knights of Rizal-Rome Chapter.

Sir Jerry is thankful for the opportunity to serve the Order of the Knights of Rizal and the whole international community in shared advocacy to advance the ideals of Dr. Jose Rizal.

Ambassador Reyes, on the other hand, is a founding member of the Knights of Rizal-Rome Chapter.

The Ambassador discussed with Supreme Commander Singson the proposed schedule of the chartering of the Knights of Rizal-Reggio Calabria Chapter in Reggio Calabria, Southern Italy on 26 July 2014, and the scheduled European Regional Assembly of the Order of the Knights of Rizal on 29 to 31 August 2014 in Florence and in Rome.

The Order of the Knights of Rizal is a “civic and patriotic organization recognized by law as an instrumentality by which the teachings of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal may be propagated among the Filipino people, and others who may believe in his teachings to the end that they may emulate and follow his examples”. It is also a civic and patriotic organization as well as a cultural, non-sectarian, non-partisan, and non-racial organization.
