ROME 07 September 2022– The Philippine Embassy in Rome and its partner agencies, in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate in Reggio Calabria headed by Honorary Consul Francesco Mortelliti, rendered a total of 765 services to overseas Filipinos in Messina and nearby areas on 03-04 September 2022 during a consular outreach program held at the historic Sala delle Bandiere del Palazzo Zanca, Via San Camillo 110, 98122 Messina, Italy.


Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ma. Claribel Ochoa headed the consular team that processed the passport applications of  178 overseas Filipinos from the Calabria and Messina provinces. The Embassy also facilitated the release of 313 passports through the assistance of the Philippine Consulate in Reggio Calabria. Other services rendered included civil registry (Report of Birth and Report of Marriage), notarization, certification, NBI fingerprinting, and oath taking of 10 overseas Filipinos who retained/re-acquired their Filipino citizenship under Republic Act No. 9225. Nineteen inquiries on consular and assistance to nationals services were also addressed. POLO and OWWA rendered 111 services, 69 of which were facilitation of membership applications while SSS rendered a total of 73 services.

This is the sixth consular outreach mission conducted by the Embassy and its partner agencies for the year 2022 after the state of emergency in Italy was lifted. END
