

ROME 08 March 2022 –The Philippine Embassy in Rome kicked off its celebration of National Women’s Month on 01 March 2022 with an address by Ambassador Domingo P. Nolasco to all Embassy clients on the reason behind the celebration in the Embassy’s consular section.
Ambassador Nolasco emphasized how the Embassy supports women empowerment through its various programs and explained the salient provisions of the Magna Carta of Women (R.A 9710) contained in the flyers, which were distributed to Filipino clients after. Flyers on breast cancer awareness were also distributed.
The Embassy also opened a courtesy lane called “Serbisyo para kay Juana” exclusively for its women clients. On the same day and on 08 March 2022, lectures on Magna Carta of Women were held for the Embassy’s clients who took their oaths to retain or reacquire their Philippine citizenship. Similar lectures will be held throughout the month of March, including a lecture on the use of gender-fair language to be participated by the Embassy personnel.
Other activities in celebration of National Women's Month include the wearing of purple office attire by the Embassy personnel on all the Tuesdays of the month, the lighting up of the Embassy’s clock tower to symbolize support to the NWMC’s cause, and presentation on the stories of selected women heroes in Philippine history.
