ROME 30 September 2019 – As part of its annual program to provide consular and other services to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome held a Consular Outreach in Pisa, a major city in Tuscany region that is home to about 12,315 Filipinos, on 28-29 September 2019. The City of Pisa provided Stazione Leopolda, a former train station that is now a multipurpose complex, as the outreach venue.

Before the start of the Consular Outreach, Embassy representatives paid a courtesy visit to Pisa Vice Mayor Raffaella Bonsangue at Palazzo Gambacorti, Pisa’s City Hall.

The Philippine Embassy processed a total of 630 services, including 329 passports, 29 Reports of Birth, one Report of Marriage, 26 affidavits, 9 certifications, and one petition for correction of clerical error. Eight individuals took the Oath of Allegiance for retention of Philippine citizenship while one applied for the same. Partner agencies Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Social Security System served 45, 95, and 87 clients, respectively.

The Embassy and its partner agencies likewise gave a brief orientation on their respective services and programs for Filipinos in Italy. END
