ROME 13 August 2019 – As part of its annual program to provide consular services and other forms of assistance to Filipinos under its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome held its third Sunday Opening for the current year on 11 August 2019.
The Embassy rendered 251 services, including 85 passports, one travel document, three Reports of Birth, one Report of Marriage, one Report of Death, one National Bureau of Investigation clearance application, three affidavits, one certificate, eight acknowledgements, and two petitions for correction of clerical error. Seven individuals petitioned for retention of dual citizenship while 34 individuals completed the process therefor by taking the Oath of Allegiance to the Philippine Republic.
The Embassy’s partner agencies collectively served over a hundred clients. Philippine Overseas Labor Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration served three and 44 clients, respectively. The Social Security System catered to 44 clients while Pag-IBIG assisted 19 clients.
Apart from those residing in Rome, applicants came from as far as the cities of Perugia, Terni, Reggio Calabria, and Bari. END
