Philippine Ambassador to Italy, Domingo P. Nolasco, received the rotating chairmanship of the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) from Myanmar Ambassador Myint Naung during a hand-over ceremony held at the Parco dei Principi Grand Hotel in Rome on 18 July 2019.
Ambassador Nolasco presented the program of activities of the Committee under the Philippine chairmanship. He expressed confidence that with the cooperation and support of the ASEAN Ambassadors, the Philippines will be able to carry out its planned activities in the next six months.
The Philippine Ambassador conveyed his appreciation to the Ambassador of Myanmar for successfully steering the Committee during Myanmar’s chairmanship.
The ACR is composed of six ASEAN member countries which have Embassies based in Rome namely, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam
The Philippine Embassy in Rome will chair the Committee from July to December 2019.
