ROME 1 July 2019 – The Philippine Embassy in Rome opened its doors on Sunday, 30 June 2019, to provide consular and other services to Filipinos. This was the Embassy’s second Sunday Opening in 2019.

The Embassy processed 289 services, including 92 passports, three Reports of Birth, 12 affidavits, two certificates, eight acknowledgements, one visa, and three dual citizenship applications. The Embassy also administered the Oath of Allegiance to 25 individuals to complete the process for retention or reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.

Partner agencies also had their significant share of clients. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration served 25 and 55 clients, respectively. Social Security System assisted 44 clients while Pag-IBIG catered to 19 clients.

Applicants came from as far as the cities of Florence and Pisa in Tuscany region, as well as Perugia and Cosenza in Umbria and Calabria regions, respectively.

As part of its Assistance-to-Nationals program, the Embassy offered to Filipinos a legal consultation with Italian lawyers. END
