Around three hundred (300) passport applicants showed up for their appointment for passport renewal on the first day of the consular outreach program in Malta on 28 April 2019.
ROME 29 April 2019 – As part of its commitment to bring consular services closer to constituents in areas within its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted a consular outreach program in Malta, from 28 to 29 April 2019.
The consular team, composed of seven (7) members rendered a total of five hundred seventy one (571) services, including three hundred ninety-one (391) passport applications, thirty-six (36) civil registry applications, ninety-four (94) authentication applications, thirty two (32) affidavits, and thirteen (13) certifications. Five (5) individuals took their Oath of Allegiance for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship.
The Embassy’s attached agencies were likewise present and rendered a total of six hundred seventy-one (671) services. The Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration undertook verification of contracts and provided updates on Philippine Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) rules and regulations to about two hundred five (205) clients. Meanwhile, the Social Security System and Pag-IBIG transacted with two hundred sixteen (216) and two hundred fifty (250) clients, respectively.
There are about 3,000 Filipinos in Malta, considered the largest non-EU foreign group in the island-state south of Italy. END
During the consular outreach program, civil registry services were provided and Filipinos were able to file Reports of Marriage and Reports of Birth.
Representatives from SSS and Pag-IBIG attended to Filipinos who wish to know the status of their contributions.
