ROME 15 April 2019 – As part of its Commission-on-Elections (COMELEC) mandate to conduct Overseas Voting and as a start to the month-long-voting period for the 2019 Philippine national elections, the Philippine Embassy in Rome delivered and received election-ballot packets in the city of Florence, Tuscany on 13-14 April 2019. The activity was held during the Embassy’s Florence Consular Outreach scheduled on said dates.

To continue its information drive on the 2019 Philippine national elections and encourage a high-voter turnout, the Embassy also held a dialogue with Filipino-Community leaders, based in Florence and Tuscany region, who voiced out their concerns about the process for the ongoing elections. The Embassy also showed COMELEC info videos on the elections, including one tackling gender equality in Philippine politics to increase gender awareness among the Filipino Community. END
