A total of 60 players – Filipinos, Italians, and children participated in the tournament. Mr. Merol Delco won the Open Division, while Catreyell Dolor won the Children’s Category.

The academic and social benefits of chess to children are proven by many scientific studies and research.
In his message, Vice Consul Jarie Osias encouraged all the youth and second-generation Filipinos as well as their parents to continue participating in this activity provided by the Philippine Embassy and FEMICA, with the hope of discovering the next Filipino Chess Grandmaster in Italy.
FEMICA President and International Chess Master Virgilio Vuelban also highlighted that academy’s chess activities are open to all Filipinos, Italians and all migrants in Italy.
