Applicants for passport renewal await they turn for biometrics capturing during the consular outreach in Empoli held from 30 to 31 March 2019.
ROME 01 April 2019 – As part of its commitment to bring consular services closer to constituents in areas within its jurisdiction, the Philippine Embassy in Rome conducted a consular outreach program in Empoli City, from 30 March to 31 March 2019.
The consular team rendered a total of three hundred sixty-two (362) services, including three hundred fifteen (315) passport applications, seventeen (17) civil registry applications, fifteen (15) affidavits, and five (5) certifications. Eight (8) individuals took their Oath of Allegiance for reacquisition of Philippine citizenship while two (2) others applied for the same. The Embassy likewise held an information drive on overseas voting during the consular outreach.
The Embassy’s attached agencies, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, also rendered services to one hundred twenty-seven (127) clients, while the Social Security System and Pag-IBIG attended to ninety-seven (97) and seventy-two (72) clients, respectively.
Prior to the start of the consular outreach and in the afternoon of 29 March 2019, the seven-member team from the Embassy also visited a bed-ridden Filipina at her home in Viareggio, Lucca to capture her biometrics and facilitate her application for passport renewal. This is part of the Embassy’s assistance to nationals program, consistent with the Philippine foreign policy on the protection of the rights and promotion of the welfare of overseas Filipinos. END
