The Philippine Embassy in Rome conducts a Consular Outreach on 2-3 March 2019 in the historic Palazzo Alvaro, the seat of the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, Italy, and one of its most prestigious buildings. The consular team renders passport, civil registry, and dual citizenship services, while the Philippine Consulate, Reggio Calabria provides notarial services. Partner agencies, e.g., the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Social Security System, and Pag-IBIG also offer their respective services.

ROME, 4 March 2019 – As part of its mandate to bring its services closer to Filipinos, the Philippine Embassy in Rome held a consular outreach in Reggio Calabria City on 2-3 March 2019.

The consular outreach was in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate, Reggio Calabria, led by Honorary Consul Francesco Mortelliti, and the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, headed by Mayor Giuseppe Falcomatà, which provided the historic Palazzo Alvaro, the city seat and one of its most prestigious buildings, as the venue of the outreach.

The consular team processed 278 passports, 15 Reports of Birth, 15 affidavits, and five certifications. Fourteen individuals took the Oath of Allegiance for retention of Philippine citizenship. The Philippine Consulate, Reggio Calabria also rendered notarial services.

16 individuals applied for Balik-Manggagawa Online with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office while 78 availed themselves of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration services. The Social Security System and Pag-IBIG serviced 107 and 96 clients, respectively.

Reggio Calabria City is located at the “toe” of the Italian peninsula in the Calabria region, home to 2,172 Filipinos, and is separated from Sicily Island by the Strait of Messina. END
