ROME, 28 January 2019 – More than 300 Filipinos flocked to the Philippine Embassy in Rome to avail themselves of consular and other services during the Embassy’s first Sunday Opening on 27 January 2019.

186 Filipinos applied for passports, 26 for notarial and certification services, and four for civil registry. The Embassy also administered the Philippine Oath of Allegiance to 31 former Filipinos to complete the process of re-acquiring Philippine citizenship.

Filipino applicants came from as far as the cities of Bari and Florence in Puglia and Tuscany regions, respectively.

The Embassy’s partner agencies, the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, and Social Security System also catered close to 200 Filipinos. END
