15 November 2018, Rome – Lawyers Bernadette B. Abejo and Maria Gabriela R. Concepcion, Executive Director and Member of the Inter-Country Adoption Board (ICAB) of the Philippines respectively, briefed personnel of the Philippine Embassy in Rome on Philippine inter-country adoption law on 14 November 2018.
Both Attys. Abejo and Concepcion explained the key principles underlying the decision making process for inter-country adoption in the Philippines, criteria and requirements for the stakeholders involved in inter-country adoption, and the role played by Philippine embassies and consulates in the process.
Atty. Bernadette B. Abejo and Atty. Maria Gabriela R. Concepcion of ICAB explain the key principles underlying the decision making process in inter-country adoption cases. As the central authority of the Philippines for inter-country adoption cases, ICAB is chaired by the Social Welfare and Development Secretary and counts as members a psychologist, social worker, representatives from the non-governmental organizations and lawyers.
