More than 250 Filipinos avail themselves of the Special Sunday Consular Services organized by the PH Embassy in Rome on 11 November 2018 to address the consular needs of Filipinos in Italy who have difficulty visiting the PH Embassy on weekdays.
Rome, 12 November -- More than 250 Filipinos availed themselves of the Special Sunday Consular Services organized by the Philippine Embassy in Rome yesterday, 11 November 2018.
Filipino applicants came from as far as the cities of Bari, Lecce and Reggio Calabria in southern Italy and from other cities in the central Italian regions of Tuscany and Marche.
The Philippine Embassy provided full consular services, mainly processing of 107 applications for renewal of passports and administered the oath of allegiance to 37 former Filipinos who completed the process of their re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship.
There were also five (5) Filipino individuals who availed themselves of the legal consultation services, a key component added to the Special Sunday Consular Services with the participation of Italian lawyers.
Full consular services are offered by the Philippine Embassy for its Special Sunday Consular Services program. Its partner-agencies such as the Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Social Security Service, and PAG-IBIG fully participate in this initiative.
Application for passport renewal remains the much-sought-after consular service of Filipino applicants during Sunday services. A total of 107 passport applicants avail themselves of passport renewal services on 11 November 2018.
Consul General Adrian Bernie Candolada briefed thirty-seven (37) former Filipinos on the legal importance of re-acquiring Philippine citizenship before they took their oath of allegiance.
