11 November 2018, Rome - The Philippine Embassy in Rome team receives the championship trophy from the Embassy of Malaysia, previous bowling tournament champion and current ACR chair, for garnering the highest score and winning the Best Team category during the ASEAN Committee in Rome Bowling Tournament 2018.
11 November 2018, Rome – The Philippine Embassy in Rome brought home the championship trophy for garnering the highest score and winning the Best Team category during the ASEAN Committee in Rome (ACR) Bowling Tournament 2018. The event was organized by the Embassy of Malaysia, current chair of the ACR.
The bowling tournament brought together the officers, staff, and family members of the six ACR Embassies in Rome namely, the Embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam, for a day of camaraderie. During his remarks, current ACR Chair Ambassador Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino of Malaysia conveyed the hope that activities such as the bowling tournament would further deepen friendship among the ACR embassies and family members.
The Philippine Embassy in Rome, garnering the highest score, won the best team award. The Embassy of Malaysia placed second, followed by the Embassy of Indonesia. Awards were also given to the top three male and female, and best dressed team categories. Mr. Ric Miranda of the Philippine Embassy also tied for the second place in the best male category.
The Philippine Embassy team was composed of Mr. Joey Espolong, Mr. Carlo Magno, Mr. Ric Miranda, Mr. Marion Reyes, Ms. Rose Cynthia Villaruz, Mr. Rammel Villena, Mr. Rudolf France, and Mrs. Rebecca Magno.
The bowling tournament is an annual ACR event aimed at fostering camaraderie and cooperation among ASEAN embassies in Rome.
