ROME, ITALY 03 September 2018 - On 01-02 September 2018, the Philippine Embassy in Rome held a Consular Outreach Mission in Floriana, Malta, its second mission in the archipelagic state for 2018.
The Embassy processed a total of 275 passport applications, 19 Reports of Birth, 12 Reports of Marriage, 79 authenticated contracts, 19 affidavits, and 4 certificates. Two individuals took the Oath of Allegiance to the Philippines. 174 Filipinos applied for Overseas Absentee Voting for the 2019 Philippine midterm elections, the registration period for which will run until 30 September 2018.
The Embassy’s partner agencies, i.e., Philippine Overseas Labor Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Social Security System, and Pag-IBIG, also rendered services to hundreds of Filipinos living and/or working in Malta.
The Embassy aims to strengthen its capacity to conduct consular outreach missions in Malta in view of the increasing number of Filipinos there. END
