Special Sunday Consular Services provided by the Philippine Embassy in Rome attracts Filipinos from Rome and even from the surrounding provinces.

13 August 2018, Rome-- The Philippine Embassy in Rome opened its consular office on 12 August 2018 to give Filipinos in the Italian capital and surrounding provinces an opportunity to avail themselves of its consular services on a Sunday.

It was the third Sunday consular services held for the year by the Philippine Embassy in Rome.

“This is really of great help to many of us who have difficulty leaving our work on weekdays,” says Ms. Xyrix Joy Lacasama from Perugia, capital city of the region of Umbria in central Italy.

Ms. Lacsamana and her husband, January Jorjit Lacsamana, travelled for three hours by bus to avail themselves of the consular services, including the renewal of their membership in the Overseas Workers Welfare Fund.

Passport-related services topped the list of 173 service transactions completed by the Philippine Embassy last Sunday. There were also 25 former Filipinos who took their oath to complete their re-acquisition of their Philippine citizenship.

The fourth special Sunday consular services in Rome will be held on 11 November 2018.

Partner agencies such as the Social Security System also join the consular services on a Sunday.

The Philippine Embassy in Rome provides a video presentation  on investment opportunities in the Philippines for individuals before they take their oath to complete their re-acquisition of Philippine citizenship.
