Per advisory from the Department of Foreign Affairs dated 17 July 2015, due to the current delay in the issuance of ePassports, the following measures shall be undertaken by the Philippine Embassy Rome and other Foreign Service posts:

For Persons Who Need to Renew their Passports:

Expired and expiring ePassports may now be revalidated or extended for a period of not less than one (1) year, but not more than two (2) years upon the request of the applicant, free of charge. When applying for revalidation/extension, the applicant must also apply for a new passport.

For Persons with Pending Applications for Passport Renewal:

Current passports may be revalidated or extended for a period of not less than one (1) year, but not more than two (2) years, at no additional cost.
