ANNOUNCEMENT
The Philippine Embassy in Rome wishes to inform that it is planning, in cooperation with the Department of Education, to conduct an “Accreditation and Equivalency Test in the Alternative Learning System” for Filipinos in Italy.
The test is designed to measure the competencies of those who have neither attended nor finished formal elementary or secondary education, particularly:
•An elementary dropout, who is at least 11 years old
•A high school dropout, who is at least 15 years old
•Unemployed/underemployed out-of-school youth and adults
•Workers, members of cultural minorities, inmates, homeschoolers, etc.
The test will cover the following subjects: Communication Skills, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Sustainable Use of Resources, Development of Self and A Sense of Community and Expanding One’s World.
Passers of this test are given a certificate/diploma certifying their competencies as comparable to graduates of the formal Philippine school system. With the certificate/diploma, they are qualified to enroll in high school (for elementary level passers) and to enroll in college (for secondary level passers).
Before such tests can be conducted in Italy, the Embassy needs to be informed on the level of interest among Filipino community members. Ang Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Roma, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Kagawaran ng Edukasyon, ay nagpaplanong magsagawa ng isang "Accreditation and Equivalency Test in the Alternative Learning System" para sa mga Pilipino sa Italya.
Ang test na ito ay dinisenyo upang masukat ang competencies ng mga hindi nakatapos ng elementarya o high school, tulad ng mga:
•elementary dropout, (11 taon gulang pataas)
•high school dropout, (15 taon gulang pataas)
•walang trabaho na out-of-school youth and adults
•manggagawa, myembro ng mga cultural minorities, inmates, homeschoolers, etc.
Ang sakop ng test ay ang sumusunod na mga paksa: Kasanayan Pangkomunikasyon, Matematika at Agham, Kabuhayan at Likas na Yaman at Pagpapalawak ng Pananaw.
Ang mga makakapasa sa test ay bibigyan ng certificate/diploma na nagpapatunay ng kanilang competencies na maihahambing sa mga nagtapos sa pormal na sistema ng pag-aaral. Maaari na rin silang mag-enroll sa high school o kolehiyo.
