Rome P.E. Commences 2013 Consular Outreach Missions with a Visit to Naples

The Philippine Embassy in Rome began the first of its ten planned Consular Outreach Missions for 2013 when it sent a joint Consular and POLO-OWWA team to Naples in southern Italy on 2-3 March 2013 headed by Consul General Grace Cruz-Fabella and Labor Attaché Viveca Catalig, in coordination with Filipino Community (FilCom) leaders and volunteers led by Ms. Melujean Galapon, President of the Communità Filippina di Napoli dal 1977, and Mr. Jose Yoro, Chair of the Advisory Council. It was held at the Istituto Paritario Santa Giovanna d'Arco in Piazzetta Rosario a Porta Medina, Napoli.

The Consular team was able to accommodate 265 e-Passport applicants, 16 Reports of Birth, 60 Affidavits and Special Power of Attorney (SPA) requests as well as NBI-clearance applications and applications for LTO driver’s license translations. Around 100 FilCom members were able to take advantage of POLO, OWWA, Pag-IBIG and SSS services. Post provided advice and counseling related to family concerns and disputes over unpaid debts. Post also reminded the Napoli FilCom members to exercise their right and duty to vote between 13 April 2013 to 13 May 2013.

The next Consular Mission is set for Messina later this month.
