On this day, Ambassador Reyes gave special recognition to the Filipino migrant workers in Italy, while the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) held outreach activities to provide the services of DOLE, OWWA, SSS and Pag-Ibig for the OFWs present.

Dubbed as the “Overseas Filipino Workers Day in Naples”, the activity was organized by the Unified Democratic Filipino Communities of Naples, in close coordination with POLO.

Ambassador Reyes paid tribute to all Filipino migrant workers as agents of positive change, who left family and home behind in search of a better life for their families, and in the process have become instruments of development not only for themselves and their families but also for their country.

He exhorted all Filipino migrant workers in Italy to set aside individual interests and divisive objectives and instead to join hands towards collective action and activities for the betterment and collective benefit of all Filipino migrant workers in Italy.
