Despite living outside the Philippines for almost 40 years now, her paintings still reflect features of distinct Filipino artistry which she learned from her distinguished artist-mentors such as Leonardo Hidalgo and Diosdado Lorenzo of the prestigious University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Her unique talent was further honed by her trainings at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence under the guidance of famous Italian painter Silvio Loffredo, and studies in Sweden under popular Swedish painter,Staffan Hallstrom.

Truly, her paintings invite and inspire viewers to be students and admirers of the art of landscape, of still life and of portraiture. They also invite viewers to be travelers – to see through the artist’s eyes the splendid landscapes of Europe, America and Asia.

The Philippine Embassy congratulates Lolita Valderrama Savage for her significant artistic contribution in bringing Filipino Culture to, and elevating Filipino identity in, Italy.

The opening of the exhibit was held on 03 December 2013 in the presence of Ambassador Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr., Philippine Honorary Consular Officer Fabio Fanfani and Filipino and Italian art enthusiasts.
