On 1-2 October 2011, Philippine Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Virgilio A. Reyes, Jr. sent a 6-man Consular team, accompanied by a 4-man POLO/OWWA team, to the city of Florence in the Tuscany region to provide outreach services to Filipinos in that region.
The outreach was held in close collaboration and with the assistance of the Philippine Honorary Consulate in Florence and the Confederation of the Filipino community in Tuscany.
The outreach serviced a total of approximately 400 Filipinos, with 350 electronic passports (ePassport) processed, 20 Births for newly-born Filipinos reported, and other requested documents/services effected such as marriage and dual citizenship applications, urgent extensions of passports, NBI clearances and important labour-related documents.
