We thank all individuals, religious and Filipino community organizations for their donations to the Filipino families displaced by the 30 October 2016 earthquake in central Italy. The families conveyed to the Embassy that donations, particularly clothes, are no longer necessary. The primary concern now of the displaced Filipino families is to quickly get back their jobs under a safe environment.
Although the situation in Norcia is far from normal, almost all Filipino quake victims who have sought temporary shelter in Rome have either returned to work or transferred to Perugia to avail of the Italian government’s assistance or link up with their employers. All of them wish to convey their gratitude to all nameless individuals and groups in Rome who gave them a warm welcome and solid support.
