The Philippine Embassy Rome has received reports that a placement agency in Malta is recruiting Filipino nurses coming from Libya, Italy and other countries and collecting recruitment fees in exchange for employment in the medical sector of Malta and the UK.

Please be advised of the following:

1) POEA-accredited placement agencies in Malta are only authorized to find jobs for Filipinos coming from the Philippines and mostly in the service sector (room attendants, cleaners, personal carers/caregivers, etc.) for placement in Malta.

2) No placement agency in Malta is authorized to find jobs for Filipino nurses coming from Libya, Italy and other countries for employment in the medical sector of Malta and the UK, in compliance with existing policies.

3) Filipino nurses cannot work as nurses in Malta and the UK without securing the necessary accreditation from the governments of said countries.

Nakatanggap ng ulat ang Philippine Embassy sa Rome na may isang placement agency sa Malta na tumutulong sa mga Filipino nurses sa Libya, Italya at iba pang mga bansa at nagkokolekta ng recruitment fees kapalit ng trabaho sa medical sector ng Malta at UK.

Pinaaalalahan ang lahat na:

1) Ang mga POEA-accredited placement agencies sa Malta ay pinahihintulutang maghanap ng trabaho para sa mga Pilipino na nagmumula sa Pilipinas at karamihan sa service sector (room attendants, cleaners, personal carers/caregivers, atbp) lamang;

2) Sa gayon, walang placement agency sa Malta ang may pahintulot maghanap ng trabaho para sa mga Pilipino na nagmumula sa Libya, Italya at iba pang mga bansa para magtrabaho sa medical sector ng Malta at UK;

3) Ang mga Filipino nurses ay hindi maaaring magtrabaho bilang nurse sa Malta at UK nang walang accreditation mula sa mga pamahalaan ng mga bansang ito.
