ADVISORY ON THE NEW DECREE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE COUNCIL
OF MINISTERS ISSUED ON 08 MARCH 2020


In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers issued on 8 March 2020, the Philippine Embassy in Rome and the Philippine Consulate General in Milan, remind the Filipino community in Italy of the following:

1. The new decree prohibits the entry and the exit from the Lombardy region and in the provinces of Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Rimini, Pesaro and Urbino, Alessandria, Asti, Novara, Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Vercelli, Padova, Treviso and Venice. However, movement will be possible for proven work needs or for emergencies and health reasons.

2. Activities in cinemas, theatres, pubs, dance schools, game rooms, bingo rooms, discos and similar premises are suspended, including opening of museums and other cultural institutes.

3. Restaurants, bars and other public areas should follow the personal distance of at least one meter.

4. Elderly people or people with chronic disease or with acquired immunosuppression are recommended to stay at home.

5. It is recommended to avoid crowded places and to limit where possible movement of individuals to strictly necessary cases.

6. Those with symptoms of respiratory infection and fever greater than 37.5 degrees are strongly recommended to stay at home and to limit social contacts and to contact their doctor.

7. Please follow good personal and respiratory hygiene practices such as regular washing of hands, avoiding close contact with people that have respiratory infections, avoiding hugs and handshakes, maintaining personal distances of at least one (1) meter, not touching one’s eyes, nose and mouth, not sharing bottles and glasses, cleaning surfaces with chlorine- or alcohol-based disinfectants and observing proper sneeze and cough etiquette.

8. For those experiencing COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty in breathing, do not immediately go to hospitals or emergency rooms, but instead call first the Italian COVID-19 hotline 1500 or the COVID-19 hotline of your Italian region.
